Wild Flower by Drew Barrymore

Wildflower by Drew Barrymore

I read "Wildflower" a memoir of sorts by Drew Barrymore. It was a good read, I enjoyed it.
However it doesn't exactly cover her entire life, just stories that SHE chose to tell...to write about.
That is fine by me. Everyone has their own story telling ways and not obligated to tell the itty bitty gritty stuff of their lives...good or bad.

She writes about her up bringing, her time in the lime light and living on her own.
I would recommend this book. However, one little thing that I did not like was that she was kind of all over the place. One chapter she wrote about being 19 on her own in Hollywood, the next chapter was when she was on set of E.T when she was 6. I would have probably enjoyed it more if it was all in a time line, and not zig-zagging through life stages.

She also writes about her children, from birth. Again in a  zig zag state. One chapter she writes about her first child, the next chapter she writes about time before she had children. So if you're not actively awake and reading it, it can become a little confusing.

She also has black and white pictures, one per chapter title. I've noticed that in many memoirs, writers tend to include a glossy page section filled with pictures they chosen to share. Again, this was her style of sharing what she wanted to share and how. Not judging.

I admire Drew Barrymore. I love majority of her movies such as E.T (of course) to Whip It...
and 50 First Dates. She is very talented from sporty, to serious...and comedy, in Blended.

I would recommend this book.
